Saluda Arts Festival wins grants

SALUDA — The Saluda Business Association has received two grants in support of its 10th annual Saluda Arts Festival.

A grant from the Polk County Community Foundation will help pay for the musical entertainment at the Saluda Arts Festival while Tryon Fine Arts Center donated $500.
The Tryon Fine Arts Center serves as the NC Arts Council's partner in awarding subgrants to local organizations for arts programs in Polk County. The Arts Council's Grassroots Arts grants provide operating or program support to qualified arts organizations including theaters, symphonies, galleries, art guilds, choral societies, dance companies, folk arts societies, writers groups and arts festivals.
The Polk County Community Foundation aims to advance philanthropy and improve the quality of life people in Polk County and the surrounding area.
The 10th annual Saluda Arts Festival is Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Historic Saluda. This year's festival will include more than 70 artists showcasing their work. For more information about entering the festival, contact Susie Welsh at 828-749-3900 or sswelsh@tds.net.
