Hunter Automotive donates $47,000 to Boys & Girls Club

Tom and Randy Hunter presented the Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County a check for more than $47,000 on July 20 to continue efforts of supporting the youth in this area.

The check will be used to support the efforts of the Boys and Girls Club throughout the year from the Youth of the Year, a program recognizing outstanding contributions to a member’s family, school and community, to charity golf tournaments, High Tea and more. The Boys and Girls Club has a special place with the Hunter Family. Randy Hunter was a Boys Club kid in Goldsboro as a youth. “The Boys Club then taught me some basic life skills that still serve me today. Teamwork, cooperation, and self-worth gave me the ability to reach my full potential,” he said.

Hunter Subaru has a long-standing effort to give back to the community through sponsorships and donations supporting children, community, and adventure. Hunter Subaru was named in the Top 10 in the country by Subaru of America for charitable donations in 2018 Share the Event, which also benefited the Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County.

“We chose the Boys and Girls Club to partner with Subaru’s Share the Love because of the club’s excellent leadership and unparalleled support within the community," Tom said in a news release. "The club's ability to deliver true, life-changing support to children in Henderson County benefits all of us. We are very proud to be associated with the Boys and Girls Club."

“Hunter Subaru's commitment to this community is evident in so many organizations, none more prevalent than the Boys & Girls Club," said Stacie Marlowe, Director of Development Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County. "The Hunters' generous gifts have quite literally transformed lives and our campus. As Presenting Sponsor for Drive for Kids Tournament and Premier Sponsor for Celebration Dinner, their investments in 2019 have allowed us to raise more than $80,000, and we are only halfway through the year. To say we are grateful for their support is an understatement. As the Boys & Girls Club Great Futures Corporate Champion, Hunter Subaru leads by example and inspires the next generation of leaders to be productive, responsible, and caring citizens”
