Deputies make arrest in catalytic converter theft

Henderson County Sheriff’s deputies charged a 24-year-old man with trying to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle at a residence after responding to a homeowner's call.

 

On Sunday March 7, deputies responded to a report of an in-progress catalytic converter theft from a vehicle in the Dana community. When arrived, the suspect had fled the area in a vehicle after being confronted by the homeowner. Officers met with the victim who was able to provide a detailed suspect description as well as a detailed vehicle description. Using the information provided and evidence obtained from the scene Henderson County, detectives were able to locate and charge Dillon Cole Williams with attempted felony larceny and injury to personal property.  Williams was jailed in the Henderson County Detention Facility under a $1,300 secured bond.

This is part of an ongoing investigation into the thefts of catalytic converters in Henderson County. Additional arrests are expected soon, the sheriff's office said.
