Grammy-nominated musician Darren Nicholson will headline an event for the Crab Creek Preservation Society from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at Jeter Mountain Farm in Hendersonville. Admission is free.
The event is an opportunity for Crab Creek neighbors and friends to express opposition to a proposed storage facility in the heart of the rural community and an opportunity to unite behind more rational planning for growth and development in the future, countywide. For more information about the effort visit www.preservecrabcreek.org.
A bluegrass and Americana musician based in Haywood County, Nicholson is a Grammy nominee and recipient of multiple International Bluegrass Music Association awards, Darren has appeared at many of the world’s most famous venues. Currently, he records and tours as a full-time founding member of Balsam Range. Darren is also renowned as a solo artist and songwriter.
Appearing with Darren will be Jennifer Nicholson, Deni McIntyre and Will McIntyre. Jennifer Nicholson is a gifted singer and music teacher. The McIntyres, who are Crab Creek residents, have toured internationally with four-time Grammy winner David Holt and produce the nationally-broadcast PBS series David Holt’s State of Music.
Food will be available for purchase from Doc Brown’s Barbecue, Flat Rock Village Bakery, and Cecelia’s Kitchen.
The event is sponsored by Jeter Mountain Farm, Camille Yates (a realtor with Berkshire Hathaway), Crate Wine Market, D.D. Bullwinkle Outdoors, Ducote Property Group and Flat Rock Village Bakery. Jeter Mountain Farm is located at 1126 Jeter Mountain Road, Hendersonville.
