Busy on front lines, Pardee passes on in-person festival tent

Busy on the front lines of the war on Covid-19, Pardee UNC Health workers are unable to staff a first aid tent at this weekend’s Apple Festival, the hospital announced.

Here is the statement issued on Thursday:

Due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in our community, Pardee team members are on the front lines caring for our friends and neighbors and will not be able to staff an on-site presence at the Apple Festival Street Fair and King Apple Parade this year. As the County hospital, we remain focused on giving our community the care they need and expect during this time. We understand that the Apple Festival is special to our community, and we fully support the local farmers and families that are part of the economic engine that fuels our thriving community. Our participation this year will include providing hand sanitizer wipe stations strategically placed along main street and encourage festival-goers to clean their hands often. We also encourage participants to stay vigilant in the 3 Ws; Wash your hands, Wear your mask and Wait apart. We hope you stay safe and have a happy and healthy Labor Day weekend!
