Hendersonville City Council primary is today

Hendersonville voters will cast ballots today in the City Council primary election.

Candidates are Mike Baer, Raphael Morales, Debbie Roundtree, Jerry Smith Jr., Mike Vesely and Chelsea Walsh. Voters will narrow the field to four candidates who will be on the Nov. 2 ballot to fill two seats.
Polls are open 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Polling sites are the National Guard Armory, Carolina Village, Hendersonville 1 (Hendersonville High School), Hendersonville 2 (Bruce Drysdale Elementary School), Hendersonville 3 (Whitmire Activity Center) and Moore’s Grove Methodist Church.
Some precincts have been combined for the primary on Tuesday. Southeast and Southwest voters will vote at the Armory. Long John Mountain and Northwest voters will vote at Hendersonville High School. Clear Creek and Northeast voters will vote at Moore’s Grove Methodist Church.

League hosts meet-and-greet for all municipal elections

The Henderson County League of Women Voters will host a meet and greet for candidates in all of the municipal elections in Henderson County from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the large picnic pavilion in Patton Park behind the swimming pool, 114 E. Clairmont Drive.
Voters on Nov. 2 will elect officeholders in Hendersonville, Fletcher, Flat Rock, Mills River, Laurel Park and Saluda. All of the candidates have been invited. Information about voter registration, municipal elections, absentee ballots and redistricting will be available. The event is free and open to the public.
