The city of Hendersonville and a consultant diversity, equity and inclusion consultant will host community listening sessions Monday and Wednesday "to amplify and support the experiences and identities" of members of the public, the city announced.
"The city has partnered with Ahkirah Legal and Diversity Consultants to create a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Plan," City Manager John Connet said. "A critical component of this plan is to hear from all our residents." The sessions will take place at the People's Museum at Hands On, 318 N. Main St.
At 6 p.m. Monday the consultants will host listening sessions on Latinx experiences in room A and faith and religious experiences in room B. At 6 p.m. Wednesday, listening sessions will focus on African-American experiences in room A and LGBTQ experiences in room B.
