ALL ABOARD! Downtown hosts free holiday train rides Saturday

Downtown Hendersonville welcomes one and all to celebrate the holiday season with free Holiday Train Rides at the Historic Courthouse 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17.

Passengers will climb aboard the charming open-air Apple Express bedecked with holiday finery at the Historic Courthouse Plaza. This is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the sights and sounds of Christmas along Main Street and create wonderful lasting memories for the whole family.

Free train rides will be provided by Mountain Fresh Orchard. There will also be many tasty treats and fresh baked goods available for purchase from Mountain Fresh.

The holiday fun does not stop there! Kids of all ages can get a free photo with festively dressed Llamas and a Christmas sleigh provided by Ellaberry Llama Farm. Free faerie hair will be provided by A Walk in the Woods and free face painting will be provided by Color Me Happy.

Children attending the event can learn how to make a wool-spun bracelet to take home courtesy of the Henderson County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. They will also be sharing educational information on the Christmas tree industry in North Carolina. The city thanked the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority for sponsorship of holiday events.
