Honeycrisps open season with Fan Fest on May 20

The Hendersonville Honeycrisps open the season with a Fan Fest starting at noon Saturday, May 20, at The Orchard (Berkeley Park) followed by an exhibition game versus Athlete’s Lab at 2:15. The annual Fan Fest includes food trucks, bounce houses for kids, face painting, balloon artists and other fun activities.

“We are excited to defend our Western Division championship starting with our first game May 20th at The Orchard,” Coach Will Lindsey said in announcing the 2023 schedule of 24 home ballgames and 20 road contests. “We hope to improve on our incredible first season record of 23-12 that took us all the way to the championship series. We have an exciting mix of Old North State League conference games, non-conference games and even a few non-league teams coming to The Orchard this season in what should be an exciting summer of baseball in Hendersonville."

During the 2023 season the Honeycrisps will welcome Old North State League foes: Lenoir Legends, Sandhills Bogeys, Sanford Spinners, Pineville Porcupines, Reidsville Luckies, Marion Swamp Foxes, Highpoint Hushpuppies and Lexington Flying Pigs to The Orchard for conference games. Also, the Oak City Gliders and non-Old North State League Teams Greensboro Yard Goats, Queen City Corndogs, Carolina Ducks and a special series versus the Native American National Team will all visit Hendersonville and The Orchard this summer.

The Honeycrisps will play a 32-game conference schedule with the top two teams from each division (Western/Central/Eastern) making the playoffs which begin July 27 in Pineville. All-Star festivities will take place July 8 in Marion.
