Community Foundation announces new hires

Ashton Turnage has been appointed the public relations and philanthropic growth officer and Alexis Boyd has joined the Community Foundation of Henderson County as an accountant, the foundation announced.

Originally from Eastern North Carolina, Turnage fell in love with Western North Carolina and relocated to the North Carolina mountains in 2011. After a brief period in California, she returned to the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2021.

A native of Henderson County, Boyd was awarded the Community Foundation's Ray V. Dunk Accounting Scholarship in 2018. After earning her bachelor of science in business administration in finance from the UNC Charlotte, she decided to return to Hendersonville to contribute her skills and knowledge to her hometown community. In her new role, Boyd will be responsible for maintaining financial records and systems, supporting the Audit, Finance and Investment committees and assisting donors in fulfilling their charitable interests.
"We are delighted to welcome Ashton Turnage as our new public relations and philanthropic growth officer and Alexis Boyd as our new accountant," McCray Benson, president and CEO of the foundation, said in a news release. “Ashton's storytelling abilities and commitment to growth combined with Alexis' financial knowledge and attention to detail make them invaluable assets to our team.”
