City Hall customer service window moves to third floor

Renovations under way at City Hall have triggered the need to move the ground floor customer service window to the third floor starting today.

Customers can still continue parking in the City Hall parking lot at 160 Sixth Avenue East when conducting business at City Hall. Signs will direct customers to use the entrance on the northeast side of the building where they can use the elevator or stairwell to access the third floor to make in-person payments. The relocation of the payment window is expected to last until the first-floor renovations are completed in March of 2024.

Customers may also pay online at https://hvlnc.authoritypay.com/ or go to hvlnc.gov and click on the "Pay My Bill" tab. Customer service will continue to offer pay by phone options at 828-697-3052, payments by mail or payments dropped off in the blue drive-thru payment drop box in the City Hall parking lot.

"We understand these adjustments may cause some inconvenience as our payment window is temporarily relocated to the third floor," the city said in a news release. "We sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through this period of change.
