City, county urge public to participate in Litter Sweep

Henderson County and the city of Hendersonville are inviting the public to take part in the Fall's Litter Sweep starting this Saturday and running through Sept. 30.

Residents can volunteer to pick up trash during NCDOT's Litter Sweep by volunteering on their own, with friends and family or with a local organization or church group. Participants should coordinate with NCDOT for litter pick-up supplies, location, and trash pickup.

Visit the NCDOT Litter Sweep page for information.

The City Council and Board of Commissioners will honor the individual or group that picks up the most bags of trash during a future meeting. One individual/group will be recognized for a cleanup in the city limits and one individual/group will be recognized for a cleanup in the county.
