Emergency director 'pleased to share' rain forecast

Although weather alerts typically bring a warning of potentially hazardous conditions, the one for Monday and Tuesday heralded welcome news.

"I am pleased to share the forecast for rain starting tonight and tomorrow!" Emergency Services Director Jimmy Brissie said in a Monday morning alert.

Sprinkles and isolated showers before noon Monday will be followed by an 80 percent chance of rain tonight and 100 percent chance Tuesday, some of it heavy at times, the National Weather Service said.We could see 1-2 inches of rain Tuesday and up to a quarter inch Tuesday night.
Wednesday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 52. Thanksgiving Day is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 55.
