'Green Drinks' get-together focuses on city's Gen H comp plan

Conserving Carolina’s next Green Drinks on Thursday, Dec. 14, will present “Considering Tradeoffs: A Growth and Development Mapping Exercise.”

Conserving Carolina, MountainTrue and Trailside Brewing Co. sponsor the mapping exercise, which is led by Matthew Manley, project manager for the Hendersonville’s GEN H comprehensive land-use plan. While balancing housing growth and economic development with choices related to transportation, quality of life and conservation, participants can earn points to unlock game pieces and strive to avoid “raising taxes” in order to “win” the game. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at Trailside, 873 Lenox Park Drive, with a half hour of networking before the program at 6.

Hendersonville Green Drinks is a monthly event for learning about and discussing current environmental issues. You don’t have to drink at Green Drinks, and everyone is welcome. Drinks and a limited food menu will be available. For more information and to RSVP, visit conservingcarolina.org/calendar.
