Courthouse dome gets a new coat

Painters were finishing the job this week on a new coat of gold on the dome of the Historic Courthouse.

They started by scraping off the old coat in early May (left) before applying primer and the fresh coat. "Next time you admire that iconic golden dome, know there’s hard work (and some serious balance!) behind that glow," county communications chief Mike Morgan commented in a Facebook post. [Photo at left by Bill Moss/Hendersonville Lightning.
