Fourth of July parade is set; WTZQ to broadcast fireworks soundtrack

The Fourth of July Parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m. Friday after parade entries begin lining up at 9 a.m. on South Main Street south of Caswell.

No parking will be allowed along the parade route on Main Street after 6 a.m. Friday. Main Street will be closed at 9 a.m., with the avenues remaining open until 15 minutes before the parade begins.

Paid parking is available in the city parking deck at the corner of Fifth Avenue West and North Church Street. Free parking is available just beyond the boundaries of Church and King, as well as free on-street parking on Church Street. For more information on parking visit www.hvlnc.gov/parking.

For public safety reasons, access to the fourth floor of the parking deck is restricted during the fireworks event. Barricades will be in place starting early Friday.

Once the parade concludes, Main Street from Caswell to 3rd Avenue will remain closed as the city prepares for the afternoon and evening Fourth of July events, including music starting at 5 p.m. As a reminder, it’s recommended to leave pets safe and comfortable at home during these festivities.
