$11.5M in revenue bonds to fund water-sewer projects

The city of Hendersonville will use $11.5 million in utility services revenue bonds to pay for several major water and sewer upgrades.

The revenue bonds will finance a 15 million gallon/day expansion of the water treatment plant, a sewer plant biosolids thermal dryer and residuals storage project, a scour system at the Mills River water intake, the purchase of a closed-circuit television sewer line inspection truck and the 110 Williams Street water and sewer expansion project. The bond issue also covers a city payment to the NCDOT for water and sewer line work it did as part of the Highland Lake Road project. The Hendersonville City Council authorized the revenue bonds on July 3, one day after the state Local Government Commission gave the borrowing plans its official blessing.
