City could get 193 jobs paying $78,000/year

The Henderson County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday authorized up to $1,629,734 in economic development incentives for a clean-energy company considering a $75.3 million investment in a plant and equipment in Hendersonville.

Project Energize Co.'s total investment would include $18 million in real property improvements; the balance would be spent on equipment and personal property. If it chooses Hendersonville for the project, the company would bring at least 193 jobs paying  $78,000 a year or more, Emily Martin of the Partnership for Economic Development told commissioners. The tax refund incentives would be no more than $256,014 the first year and $1.63 million over the five years. The potential location of the plant was not disclosed.
