'Something Rotten' opens at Hendersonville Theatre

The Hendersonville Theatre will present “Something Rotten” on its Washington Street stage July 24-Aug. 10.

Set in the 1590s, the play tells the story of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom who are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of Renaissance rock star William Shakespeare.

When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theater involves singing, dancing and acting all at once, the brothers set out to write the world’s first musical.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Rush tickets are $15. For more information, call 828-692-1082 or visit hendersonvilletheatre.org.
