The Hendersonville City Council is poised to formally revoke the $3,000 appropriation it made last spring to Only Hope WNC, the nonprofit whose CEO remains in Henderson County jail on 11 child sex abuse charges.
Only Hope founder Michael Absher faces two counts of statutory sexual offense against a child 15 or younger and nine counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and remains in jail under a $650,000 bond.
The council is scheduled to take up the funding revocation during its regular meeting Thursday night. The $3,000 in city funds will be reappropriated to other areas, a city memorandum said.
