Developers are seeking rezonings from the city of Hendersonville in separate proposals to redevelop the historic Osceola Inn and to build a 46-unit three-story apartment building on Linda Vista Drive.
City planners on Monday announced separate neighborhood compatibility meetings for the two proposed developments next week:
- BL Corp of North Carolina, Fiona McColley and Osceola Lake Cottages LLC have applied for a zoning change to develop the 4.9-acre Osceola Lake resort as a hotel, restaurant, event center plus 26 dwellings. The site is made up of two separate parcels valued at $2.8 million. A neighborhood compatibility meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, in the second floor meeting room of City Hall.
- Neider Development is seeking a rezoning on Linda Vista Drive to Urban Residential-Conditional Zoning District for the three-story apartment building. That neighborhood compatibility meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, also in City Hall. Owned by Home Depot since 2002, the subject property is a vacant 2-acre parcel west of the building supply retailer.
No other information was available on the two proposals. In a neighborhood compatibility meeting, a zoning applicant is permitted to present details of a proposed development and the public may ask questions.
