Hendersonville police charged a 39-year-old homeless man with assault after responding to a report of a stabbing at 7:27 Tuesday night outside the Love and Respect Community for Recovery & Wellness at 350 Chadwick Ave.
Upon arrival officers quickly arrested Bruce Timothy Jones, who has a lengthy record of violent crime.
The male victim suffered lacerations to his torso and neck and was immediately transported to Mission Hospital by EMS. The victim remains in stable condition following emergency surgery.
Jones was jailed without bond on charges of second-degree trespassing and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury. Detectives are still working to determine motive for the assault but believe this was an isolated incident, the city said in a news release.
