Transportation historian is guest speaker at Saluda Train Tales

SALUDA —Larry Neal, a historian and interpreter at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, is guest speaker at Train Tales at the Saluda Depot Museum at 7 p.m. Friday, June 19.

Neal, who has devoted his career to working with N.C. Historic Sites such as Fort Fisher and Reed Gold Mine, has a lifetime interest in railroads and transportation. He worked at the transportation museum from 1996-2011. After retiring as site manager at Reed Gold Mine in Midland, he returned to Spencer last year to assist with programming and educational development.
