Local history class starts

Although the fall semester Henderson County History and Heritage class began Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Blue Ridge Community College, the college allows late registration.

Henderson County History and Heritage I covers prehistory to 1860 in the first half of the semester. The second half covers 1860 to the mid-20th century. The instructor is Jennie Jones Giles.
The 90-minute classes are held on Tuesdays. The day class is at 1 p.m. and the evening class starts at 7. Each of the classes cover the same material.
To register visit or go to the Continuing Education Building, Room 123, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday or 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday. For more information, call 694-1735.
