Downtown to become morning star

Hendersonville is set to get its 15 minutes of fame. Well, four hours of fame, actually.

Fox Carolina (Morris Broadband channel 5) has asked permission to hold its "Town Takeover" show in the 400 block of Main Street on Monday, July 16. The one-day stardom for Historic Downtown Hendersonville will require that block to close 4-10 a.m. The show airs 5-9 a.m.
The city's Special Events Committee recommended the City Council approve the request, which is on the agenda next Thursday.
"A number of local businesses and non-profits will have an opportunity to be featured on the show," said zoning administrator Susan Frady, who is chairman of the Special Events Committee.
