Two men sent to prison on drug charges

Two defendants received prison terms after pleading guilty to drug charges in Henderson County Superior Court last week, District Attorney Greg Newman announced.

Desmond Bunch, of 82 Carolina Avenue, Brevard, pleaded guilty to Carrying Concealed Weapon, four counts of Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, and Sell or Deliver Counterfeit Controlled Substance. Bunch was sentenced to two consecutive sentences totaling eight years and eight months.

Bryon Newborn, of 410 Brooklyn Avenue, Hendersonville, pleaded guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance and Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances. Newborn was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Judge Mark Powell presided.

In Polk County Superior Court this week Timothy Hill, of Mill Spring, pleaded guilty to Indecent Liberties with Child and was sentenced to 21 months in prison. Judge Brad Letts presided.
