IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Veterans to speak next week

Veterans from the Korean War on will speak over two nights next week on Tuesday, May 24, and Wednesday, May 25, at 6 p.m. in Kaplan Auditorium at the Henderson County Public Library,

The program will also include video recordings of stories from local veterans. The library thanked Jeff Miller of HonorAir and Blue Ridge Honor Flight and Mike Murdock, Henderson County’s Veterans Service Officer, for their assistance.

The veterans featured in both nights of the two-night event are (in alphabetical order) are:

  • Frank E. Blazey, Brigadier General, United States Army
  • Avery D. Dolinger, Jr., E-6, Staff Sergeant, United States Air Force
  • William Hunter, Yeoman, 2nd Class, United States Navy
  • Joseph L. Pace, E-4, United States Army
  • Alvin B. Seal, E-5, United States Army
  • William (Bill) T. Stanley, Colonel, United States Air Force
  • Hilliard Staton, Captain, United States Marine Corps
  • James H. Young, E-4, United States Army
