Sheriff announces town hall meetings in Edneyville, Etowah

Following a well-attended Town Hall meet-and-greet last month in Mills River, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has added similar events in Edneyville and Etowah.

The Edneyville/Bat Cave/Gerton Town Hall Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6pm-8pm at the Edneyville Community Center located at 15 Ida Rogers Road. Henderson County Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Sheriff's Office to bring important information to Edneyville and the northeastern portions of Henderson County.

The Etowah/Horseshoe Town Hall Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 6pm-8pm at the Etowah Lions Club building located at 447 Etowah School Road. The Sheriff's Office is partnering with the Etowah Lions Club to disseminate information and crime prevention tips to our Etowah and Horseshoe residents.

“These community meetings give residents the opportunity to learn, ask questions and get to know the men and women who make up their Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Charlie McDonald said in a news release. “We provide residents with information and tools that will help them contribute to their own safety. By going into different areas of the county, we are able to focus in on those specific areas’ crime statistics and concerns.”

Thank you to Henderson County Parks and Recreation and the Etowah Lions Club for facilitating these important community sessions. Crime data will be relevant to the area in which the meetings are held, but anyone from the public is welcome to attend. More community meetings will be scheduled and announced throughout the year.
