Police link dealer to fatal drug overdose

Hendersonville police officers charged a 29-year-old man with multiple drug felonies after they linked him to a fatal drug overdose on Monday.

Officers responded to a call about 3 p.m. Monday about a possible narcotics overdose at an apartment on Main Street in Hendersonville. The individual experiencing the overdose was transported to Pardee Hospital and later died.

During the investigation, detectives identified a suspect that sold the narcotics to the deceased person. Based on the investigation, HPD Detectives, with assistance from the Henderson County SWAT team, executed a high-risk search warrant at 168 Cedar Bluff Drive.

During the execution of the search warrant, a significant amount of narcotics was seized. The suspected narcotics seller was apprehended. This suspect has been identified as Raymond Ortiz Flores, was charged with Trafficking in Heroin, Trafficking in Methamphetamines, Possession with the Intent of Sale and Distribution of Schedule IV narcotics, Possession of Schedule VI narcotics, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was jailed at the Henderson County Detention Center under a $46,000 bond.
