Funeral is scheduled for Becky Snyder

Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church for Becky Snyder, the Henderson County IT director died suddenly last week during a meeting at the Historic Courthouse.

The Board of Commissioners on Monday night observed a moment of slience for Snyder, who was well-liked among her coworkers who relied on her expertise and training with information technology problems. County Manager Steve Wyatt said last week that county employees were shocked and in disbelief at Snyder's sudden death. He also praised the quick reaction and "herculean effort" of staffers on the scene and emergency services personnel who reached the courthouse quickly.

"The events of last week turned our world upside down," he said Monday night. "I will say I saw the best of our staff and emergency services at that time."
