Mountain Jewish Festival is Sunday at Agudas Israel

Agudas Israel Congregation is presenting its third Mountain Jewish Festival from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at the Synagogue, 505 Glasgow Lane.

The Mountain Jewish Festival is for anyone interested in learning and experiencing Jewish culture as well as tasting some traditional foods. Food items available for sale include Mandelbread, Hamantashen, Rugalach, Matzah Ball Chicken Soup, Kugel (noodle pudding), braided Challah, along with freshly made traditional Egg Cream Soda and more. In addition, pastrami and corned beef sandwiches will be available. Food is available for sale to enjoy under the tent while listening to music or take home some goodies to enjoy later. Entertainment includes traditional music performed by Penny White, singer/song leader, Joel Helfand, Klezmer music, Daniel Sage and more.


A Sanctuary tour from 12:30 to 2:30 will include a look at the Torah and a Q&A with Rabbi Rachael Jackson. Experience a Jewish wedding at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Visit our Holiday Festival tables. Learn about Shabbat, Passover, Rosh Hashanah and Chanukah. Taste a free sample of the traditional foods pertaining to the holidays.
