NWS issues flood warning

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the French Broad River valley at Blantyre after a day of rain on Saturday.

The river rose above flood stage of 16 feet at 6:30 a.m. Sunday after 2-4 inches of rainfall on Saturday, the NWS said.

The weather will be far better today, with a high near 62 under sunny skies. Showers return Monday night and Tuesday, with an 80 percent chance of rain and continued warm weather with highs in the mid 60s. Chance of rain is 60 percent Wednesday before clearing on Thursday with a high of 57.
