Fletcher man charged with soliciting 15-year-old for sex

Henderson County sheriff’s detectives charged a 44-year-old Fletcher man with solicitation of a minor by computer to commit a felony.

 

Violent crime unit detectives engaged in a conversation through the internet with the suspect, Michael Daniel Jones, who they said offered to pay for sex with a 15-year-old child. The sheriff’s internet crimes against children’s detectives found Jones using the internet to facilitate his intentions. The detective engaged in conversation and agreed to meet at a location for the sole purpose of having sex, authorities said.

Jones is currently being held in the Henderson County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to have a first appearance on Monday, May 18, in Henderson County District Court.
