Judith Ann Meinzer

Judith Ann Meinzer, 74, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026. Born on May 17, 1951, in South Amboy, New Jersey, Judy lived a life marked by faith, music, love, and service.

Judy was the beloved wife of Chet Meinzer of 53 years and a devoted mother to her daughters Bree Hodge, Erica Zoller, and Krysta Lovelace. She was a cherished mother-in-law to David Hodge, Andy Zoller, and Luke Lovelace, and a deeply adored “JMa” to Avery, Emery, Cameron, Hayden, Lillian, and Julian, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her siblings, Jeanne Morgan (Tom), and Richard Kurowsky (April).

A woman of extraordinary talent and calling, Judy dedicated her life to music. She earned a Master’s Degree in Piano Pedagogy and pursued a multifaceted career as a soap opera actress, model, vocalist, pianist, conductor, music and voice teacher, music director, worship leader, and Mary Kay consultant. She found joy in singing with the Carolina Concert Choir, the Blue Ridge Singers, and the Flat Rock Playhouse. Her gifts were many, but her purpose was singular: to uplift, encourage, and inspire others.

Judy was a member of Mills River Methodist Church, where her faith found expression through worship, leadership, and service. She was a true sower of faith—profoundly authentic, immeasurably caring, unapologetically passionate and strong. As an encourager, leader, and supporter, she left an indelible mark on her community and on the countless lives she touched through music, mentorship, and love.

She passed peacefully, now taking in the warm glow of diamonds on the water, singing glory to God, and joyfully reuniting with loved ones who have gone before her.

A viewing and visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM Wednesday, January 21 at Church Street Funeral and Cremation. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 22 in the chapel of the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mills River Methodist Church (https://millsriverumc.org/give), Rising Stars Children’s Choir (https://www.carolinaconcertchoir.org/donate), or Four Seasons HospiceFoundation (https://fourseasonsfdn.org/ways-to-give/give-today) – causes that reflect Judy’s enduring love for faith, music, and service to others.

Judy’s legacy lives on in song, in faith, and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
