Howard “Glenn” Duncan

Howard "Glenn" Duncan, 77, of Hendersonville, died on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Pardee Hospital.

A native and life long resident of Henderson County he was born on March 26, 1936, to the late Raymond Duncan and Louise Pace Duncan. He was also preceded in death by his son, Curtis Cox.

He had a love for the open road, working as a long haul truck driver for over 40 years and riding his Gold Wing Motorcycle in his off time and retirement. He also enjoyed airplanes and western movies.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pauline Duncan; his son, James Cox and his wife, LuAnne; his brothers, Stanley Duncan and his wife, Terri, Gene Duncan and his wife, Marjorie; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Merrill Baldwin, Randy Kessler, Don Justus, Roger Dalton, Nick Black and Bryan Dockery will all be proudly serving as pall bearers.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel with the Rev. Paul Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013. In addition the family will be receiving friends for lunch from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at the Upward Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
