Helen E. Gyllenberg, 92

Helen E. Gyllenberg, 92, passed away on Aug. 13, 2013, and is survived by her sister Phyllis Smith Blossom of Florida.

She was born in Lake Forest, Ill., on Oct. 8, 1926, and was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Emily B. Smith, and a brother, Albert H. Smith.

Her beloved husband, Malcolm Gyllenberg, whom she met while they were both students at Lake Forest College, Lake Forest, Ill., passed away in October 2005.

Helen and Gill were longtime residents of Hendersonville and Helen was a devoted member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hendersonville. She was an avid swimmer and tennis player at Hendersonville Country Club. Her many friends will miss her sweet personality and her sunny smile. She specifically requested that no services be held.
