Dale P. Bowlin, Sr.

Dale P. Bowlin, Sr., 75, retired Assistant Director of the Miami-Dade County Police Department, where he served for 32 years, passed away on September 6, 2013 in Hendersonville, his home since 1994.

He was born in Charleston, S.C., served with the Naval Reserve, moved to Miami and graduated from Miami Jackson High School. He was a devoted member of Berea Baptist Church, a passionate Miami Hurricanes and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed golf, fishing and hanging out with the gang at Helms Barber Shop.

He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and devoted wife of 55 years, Sandra Bowlin; three children, Bonnie Castle, Dale P. Bowlin, Jr., Candy Loftus and his Son-In-Law, Jim Loftus; grandchildren include Candi Rose Deschamps, Alexander Deschamps, Chase Castle, Kiera and Clare Loftus and Godchildren, Rebecca and Cricket Narehood.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Berea Baptist Church, 626 Berea Church Road, Hendersonville, with Reverend Guy W. Smith officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to The Rathbun Center, 121 Sherwood Road, Asheville, NC 28803-2426.
