Everette Adam Summey, 34

Everette Adam Summey, 34, of Hendersonville died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, after a courageous battle with heart disease.

He was born on June 20, 1979, in Henderson County to Everette Robert Summey and Kathy Grindstaff Summey.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Cloyd and Margaret Grindstaff; and paternal grandfather, Reginald E. Summey, as well as, his two sisters, Tanya and Tonya Summey.

Everette was a graduate of East Henderson High School. He worked at Samovar Restaurant with his mom and dad for over 15 years, and for the Selee Corporation. He was the second recipient of the L-VAD machine that was miraculously implanted at Duke University Medical Center more than 4 years ago. During Adam's many trips to the medical campus he was an avid speaker to prospective recipiants of the implant. His positive outlook inspired all who knew him. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Lillian, of the home; one sister, Angela Summey; as well as his paternal grandmother, Dullie Josephine Phillips, all of Hendersonville.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Reverend Martin Mathis officiating.
