George Martin Hill, 95

George Martin Hill, 95, of Hendersonville passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Minnie Hill of Rutherfordton, nine brothers and sisters and his wife, Chloe Burnett Hill.

He is survived by his daughter, Birdie (Mac) McLaughlin; granddaughter, Lisa McLaughlin (Lee) Lohr; grandson, Steven (Michelle) McLaughlin; seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friends/ caregivers, Carolyn and Marshall Blanton who were embraced by Mr. Hill as family.

Martin Hill was a US Army Veteran of World War II deployed in the Pacific and Europe.
He was involved in business with Hill's Hardware, was owner of Hill's Tractor Co. of Rutherfordton and spent many years in agriculture construction throughout the United States.

Mr. Hill was known for his integrity, family loyalty and his willingness to help others. He could be depended upon to persevere, even in his struggle with health ailments during his last few years of life.

No formal services have been planned.
