Hubert "Hubie" Sharon, 86

Hubert "Hubie" Sharon, 86, of Hendersonville passed peacefully in his sleep on April 25, 2014 after a brief illness.

He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Ruth Rosenbeck Sharon; his son, William Sharon and Patricia of East Longmeadow, Mass.; his daughter, Judith Craven and Thomas of Campobello, S.C.; another son John "Jocko" Sharon and Rose of Westfield, Mass., and Andrew Sharon and Pamela of Hopkinton, Mass. Other survivors include eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Hubie was born in Springfield, Mass., son of the late Frank and Nellie Sharon. He was predeceased by two brothers and sister.

After serving his country in the Army, he worked for Rafferty Brown Company for 20 years then the Artted Company for 25 years. He and his family lived in East Longmeadow, Mass., for 36 years before retiring to Hendersonville in 1992.

He played hockey and baseball as a young man. He belonged to the Elks Lodge #61 and the German Club of Springfield, Mass. He was also a charter member of the Shaker Commercial Bowling League of East Longmeadow, Mass. He enjoyed playing golf in his later years and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He enjoyed his many friends and always had a smile for everyone.

A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday May 3, 2014, at Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel with Rev. Roy Perry officiating.
