Often referred to as the longest day in golf, the Sectional Qualifiers is a 36-hole competition where each contestant’s endurance and mental fortitude are put to the test. In difficult weather conditions, Harris posted a one-over par 73 in the opening round. After another rain delay in round two, Harris proved to be a tough contender with two eagles and two birdies on his way to a 2-under par score of 70. Unfortunately, Harris’s final score of 143 did not advance him to the U.S. Open. On his way to the sectional qualifying, Harris won the local qualifying with a score of 66 at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg.
