Health care for neediest faces a ‘tidal wave on horizon’

Henderson County social workers are bracing for a wave of confusion and anxiety from Medicaid recipients who are scheduled to choose managed care plans starting Oct. 1 in place of traditional fee-for-service health coverage. And even if the county weathers the transition, those patients may then confront a severe shortage of doctors willing to treat them, county officials say.   Read Story »
