Bears '14 to be unveiled Friday

Bears, before they become works of art, were ready to be picked up at City Hall in April.

Twenty new bears for the 2014 season will be unveiled Friday at the First Citizens Bank Plaza on Main Street at Sixth Avenue.


Each bear will be introduced by the local artists and sponsors who collaborated on the design and production of the bears. The public will then have a chance to welcome them face-to-face. Entertainment begins at 4:30 with jazz drummer Bill Berg and a fabulous entourage of entertainers. The Reveal is at 5:15.
The bears will take their places throughout the district following the Bear Reveal and will be in place through Oct. 25 when the Bearfootin' Art Auction takes place.
The Bearfootin' Public Art Walk, which debuted in 2003, has brought joy to visitors of Historic Downtown Hendersonville while raising money for local charities and art in Historic Downtown.
