AdventHealth breaks ground on medical office building

Breaking ground on new Medical Office Building are AdventHealth Hendersonville CEO Brandon Nudd, Chief of Staff Jeffrey Garris, Chief Nursing Officer Maureen Dzialo, Development Director John Almeida and board member Fair Nabers Waggoner.

AdventHealth Hendersonville broke ground this week on a new state-of-the-art Medical Office Building at its hospital campus just off Howard Gap Road.

The event on Tuesday included leaders from the business community, law enforcement, emergency response and Henderson County.

Patients “have come to know and trust our promise to provide whole-person care – body, mind and spirit," AdventHealth Hendersonville President/CEO Brandon Nudd said. "They tell us daily that they want more access to that level of care. Recognizing AdventHealth does health care differently, families also tell us they want their health care to be local. They don’t want to wait to see a specialist, schedule a surgery or a procedure. They want to take care of their health conditions and needs as soon as possible in a convenient location.”

The new Medical Office Building will also meet the requests of doctors who want to have offices on the AdventHealth campus.

“We are blessed to be able to reinvest that money through our community benefit, which last year exceeded $45 million," Nudd said. "This total is made up from uncompensated and charitable care, health and wellness promotion, spiritual care, infrastructure and service line development. This investment is different than paying shareholders of a publicly traded company that may live all over the world.”

Designed by Hoefer Welker architecture firm, the 60,000-square-foot building will provide new spaces for surgical procedures, physician offices, imaging and laboratory services.

AdventHealth is partnering with health care real estate developer MedDevelopment to offer this additional choice for health care to the region. The hospital is also working with Frank L. Blum Construction and WGLA engineering on the project, which is slated to open in November 2024.
