Developer seeks rezoning for 276 apartments off Upward Road

City planners have scheduled a neighborhood compatibility meeting to provide information on a proposal to build 276 apartments on 15.5 acres on South Allen Road near Upward Road.

The applicants, Warren Sugg of Civil Design Concepts and Graycliff Capital Development LLC, are seeking to rezone the property from Henderson County Office Institutional District to Planned Residential Development Conditional Zoning District in the city. The city requires landowners to annex into the city when they seek to build high-density developments requiring city sewer service. The neighborhood compatibility meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, June 11, in the City Operations Center Assembly Room, 305 Williams St.
