AdventHealth Hendersonville has hired Bo Caldwell, the former superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools, as its new foundation director, the hospital announced.

A native of Henderson County, Caldwell says he has watched AdventHealth Hendersonville grow in its mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ. When he recently had shoulder replacement surgery at AdventHealth, he was impressed with the dedicated and compassionate professionals working together to serve the people in their care.

“As soon as I walked into the hospital, I felt a sense of warmth and caring,” Caldwell recalled. “My hospital experience from the beginning to the end was of top quality with excellent service and care. I served Henderson County public schools for more than 36 years; starting as a classroom teacher and retiring as superintendent. I now have the opportunity to continue to serve my community working with AdventHealth."

As a former schools superintendent, Caldwell brings a longstanding dedication to serving the community to the foundation leadership role.

“Bo is going to be an exceptional fit with our team at AdventHealth Hendersonville,” Advent President and Chief Executive Officer Brandon Nudd said. “With a foundation role you’ve got to have someone who can connect with people in a couple minutes and have the ability to go much deeper with the relationship. Bo is that person. As superintendent of Henderson County public schools, he connected with the teachers and now as director of AdventHealth Hendersonville Foundation he intends to connect with the caregivers. He is going to help tell our story and invite people to support our commitment to improve the health and well-being of people across our region.”

Caldwell intends to build strong relationships with trust and communication.

“As the foundation director, my goal is for supporters to understand their commitment and generosity will enhance whole-person care for our patients and change lives,” he said. “My mission will be to generate support and contributions for the hospital so the team members can provide the most up-to-date, whole-person care.”

Caldwell and his wife have two grown children and a granddaughter. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, working in the yard, short hikes in the mountains and playing golf.
