Frozen yogurt shop coming to Main Street

Sweet Frog frozen yogurt will open in the historic Nuckolls Building in the 200 block of North Main Street.

Frozen yogurt is coming to Hendersonville's Main Street.

The Sweet Frog premium frozen yogurt shop says it's "coming soon" to the 201 N. Main St. space next to the Historic Courthouse that was last occupied by the Henderson County Sheriff's Department administration.
The Sweet Frog shops serve a variety of flavors including apple pie, cable car chocolate, carrot cake, egg nog, Georgia peach, Greek black cherry, Irish mint, mountain blackberry, maple bacon donut, peach mango tart, pistachio, thin mint cookie and others; and toppings including nuts, fruit, flavored sauces and candy bits.
The new frozen yogurt entry into the market comes after the TCBY shop on Spartanburg Highway closed. It joins two ice cream shops on Main Street — Kilwin's and Marble Slab — and Yogurt World three blocks off Main Street on Kanuga Road.
"We're so excited to be setting up shop here; we should be up and hopping by the middle of June," the Facebook site said.
The shop didn't make that deadline.
"They're supposed to open July 1st but they're not going to make it," said Jimmy Edney, the real estate agent who rented the space. The owner is a Mills River native who has three other Sweet Frog shops in North Carolina and Virginia.
The shop's Hendersonville Facebook page carries a want ad for an immediate opening for "an energetic, customer-focused and experienced manager to lead a team of associates and manage the day to day operations of a Premium Frozen Yogurt Shop."
Edney has rented the Main Street level space of the three-story building to the shop. He still has space for rent on the Second Avenue West level and upstairs.
