Sierra Nevada to begin hiring in the spring

The Sierra Nevada brewery will begin hiring next spring, BRCC officials were told Monday.

Sierra Nevada is investing $107 million to build a brewery at the Ferncliffe Industrial Park on the French Broad River in Mills River. It will employ 90 workers and is expected to be fully operational by November 2013.
Sierra Nevada HR manager Carrie Alden and logistics manager Stan Cooper met with BRCC's workforce development and continuing education staff last month and toured the simulated factory floor that can be set up to train brewery workers. BRCC may host a job fair for the company in November in advance of its hiring next spring.
