Pardee board welcomes three new members

Brittany Brady, Dr. Thomas Eisenhauer

Pardee UNC Health Care is welcoming three new members of its 15-person board of directors.

New members are Deborah Bell, a retired sales manager for the commercial and industrial lighting industry; Brittany Brady, president and CEO of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development; and Dr. Thomas Eisenhauer, a general, thoracic and vascular surgeon at Pardee Surgical Associates. Bell fills the seat left vacant by Jack Summey; Brady and Eisenhauer fill seats vacated by Dr. Bill Medina and Hall Waddell. Each new board member will serve a three-year term.

“On behalf of the Pardee UNC Health Care board of directors, I am pleased to welcome Deborah, Brittany and Dr. Eisenhauer,” said Greg Burnette, chair of the Pardee UNC Health Care board of directors. “With their extensive knowledge of our community’s workforce and health care needs, they will provide valuable insights to our board as we support Pardee’s mission and vision in the years to come. I would also like to thank Dr. Medina, Jack and Hall for their leadership and service to the board for the past three years.”

BizDeborahBellDeborah BellBell retired in 2017 after a 39-year career in the commercial and industrial lighting industry. She most recently served as regional sales manager for Hubbell Lighting in Greenville, S.C. Bell earned an associate’s degree in industrial engineering from Blue Ridge Community College and a bachelor’s degree in business from Montreat College. She lives in Hendersonville.

With a background in marketing, Brady started with the Partnership in 2010 focusing on marketing and business recruitment to ensure a sustained industrial base in Henderson County. In 2017, she was promoted to President and CEO of the organization. During her tenure at HCPED, she has assisted with nearly 40 projects resulting in more than $720 million of new capital investment and more than 2,000 jobs. After graduating summa cum laude from East Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in child and family studies, she obtained a master’s degree in international hospitality and tourism management from the University of South Carolina. Brady lives in Hendersonville with her husband and son.

In addition to Dr. Eisenhauer's role as a general, thoracic and vascular surgeon at Pardee Surgical Associates, he is also active on a regional and national level in the fight against cancer. He has been an elected Diplomat to the Commission on Cancer (CoC), representing the American College of Surgeons, since 1994. He is a surveyor for the CoC, reviewing other cancer programs nationally, and serves as chairman of the Field Staff Subcommittee, tasked with training and overseeing all national surveyors. He currently serves as the North Carolina State Chairman for the CoC Cancer Liaison Program and is a member of the Ethics Committee for the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Dr. Eisenhauer has also been a featured speaker at numerous national meetings, speaking on behalf of the CoC. He earned his medical degree cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He lives in Hendersonville.
