Commissioners appoint four Pardee board members

The Henderson County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday reappointed one member and appointed three new members to the Pardee Hospital Board of Directors.

Board members Bill Lapsley and Jack Summey declined to be considered for reappointment and Larry Freeman had served the maximum number of terms allowed under the Pardee board bylaws.
Reappointed was Peggy Judkins. New members appointed were Rita Connor, the dean of Allied Health Services at Blue Ridge Community College; Dr. William D. Medina, an oncologist who recently retired; and Hall Waddell, the owner of Reaben Oil Co. and the Triangle Stops convenience stores.
All commissioners voted for that slate except Larry Young, who voted for Judkins, Waddell, Medina and Greg Burnett, the top executive with First Citizens Bank in Hendersonville.
The county-owned hospital is managed and operated by a 12-member board — officially the Henderson County Hospital Corporation Board of Directors — whose members serve three-year terms.
